Govt decreases petrol price by Re1, raises diesel by Rs3.37 per litre

The price of high-speed diesel has been increased by PKR 3.37 per litre, taking the new rate to PKR 386.83 per litre

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The government has announced revised prices for petroleum products, reducing the price of petrol while increasing the rate of high-speed diesel.

According to an official notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by PKR 1 per litre, bringing the new price to PKR 334.18 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by PKR 3.37 per litre, taking the new rate to PKR 386.83 per litre.

The notification stated that the revised prices came into effect after midnight.

Meanwhile, Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has constituted a high-level committee to address the demands of the Oil Tanker Contractors Association (OTCA) following successful talks with the association's delegation.

The committee, to be headed by the Special Secretary Petroleum, has been tasked with submitting its recommendations within one week.

It will include representatives from the Directorate General of Oil (DG Oil), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the Oil Tanker Contractors Association (OTCA), and the Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC).

The development came after a meeting between the petroleum minister and an OTCA delegation led by its President Abidullah Afridi.

During the meeting, the association raised concerns over the reduction in the White Oil Pipeline quota, the freight formula, and issues related to commercial loading.
