LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat urged Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to focus on Sindh instead of criticising Punjab, saying the province was witnessing significant progress under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Speaking at a press conference at the Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR) in Lahore, the minister said the Punjab government had launched transformative initiatives in education and development, while the opposition, particularly the PPP, should concentrate on its own performance.
He said scholarships and laptops were being provided to young people across Punjab, adding that projects such as the Danish Schools had no parallel elsewhere in the country. He also claimed that student enrolment in schools had reached record levels.

Rana Sikandar Hayat said the outsourcing of schools had improved the education sector, while the chief minister remained focused on raising educational standards throughout the province.
The minister further claimed that several development initiatives introduced by the Punjab government had later been replicated by the Sindh government. He said that if the PPP wanted a political debate, it should be based on development and public service, arguing that the party had no project comparable to the Danish Schools and lacked support among today's youth.
He added that the Suthra Punjab programme was ensuring improved cleanliness in neighbourhoods across the province and expressed confidence that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would secure victory in the Azad Kashmir elections on the basis of the performance of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.
