KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) recorded its strongest single-day rally of the fiscal year on Monday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index soaring 7,241 points to close at 178,262, reflecting renewed investor confidence and strong buying across key sectors.
Trading began on a positive note, with the benchmark index gaining more than 4,500 points during early hours to cross the 175,000-point level.
The bullish momentum accelerated throughout the session as the KSE-100 Index crossed several psychological milestones. During intraday trading, the market climbed by more than 6,100 points, surpassing the 177,200-point mark before extending gains further.
At the close of trading, the benchmark index settled at 178,262 points, up 7,241 points from the previous session, marking the biggest rally of the current financial year.
The sharp rebound follows last week's decline, when the market ended the week on a negative note. The KSE-100 Index had fallen by more than 1,800 points, closing at 169,885 points amid selling pressure.
Market analysts said the strong recovery reflected renewed optimism among investors, although they noted that future market direction would depend on corporate earnings, economic indicators, and investor sentiment in the coming sessions.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange has experienced heightened volatility in recent weeks, with investors closely monitoring macroeconomic developments and policy measures expected to influence market performance.
