ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restrained the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) from interfering with the official duties of the petitioning officers while maintaining an earlier stay order against disciplinary action.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan issued a written order after hearing a petition filed by the affected officers, directing that no obstacles be placed in the petitioners' lawful discharge of official responsibilities.
According to the order, NCCIA contract employees have approached the court seeking regularisation of their services. During the hearing, NCCIA officials requested additional time to submit their reply.
Counsel for the petitioners opposed the request, arguing that the agency had already been granted several opportunities to file its response since the first hearing on February 13.
The petitioners' lawyer further contended that repeated adjournment requests had caused irreparable harm to the employees.
The court granted NCCIA a final opportunity to submit its reply before the next hearing on July 30 and directed the agency not to interfere with the petitioners' work in accordance with the law.
The IHC also warned that if no reply is filed by the next hearing, the case will be decided on the basis of the available record. The matter was adjourned until July 30.
