Punjab Wildlife introduces portable X-ray service, enabling faster, safer and less stressful medical diagnosis of wild animals at zoological facilities.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department has introduced the province's first portable X-ray service for wild animals, marking a significant advancement in wildlife healthcare.

A medical team from the modern Wildlife Hospital at Safari Zoo Lahore visited Lahore Zoo, where several wild animals underwent health examinations using the new portable X-ray system.

According to officials, a fallow deer and a python were among the first animals examined on-site with the portable equipment, eliminating the need to transport animals to a veterinary hospital for diagnostic imaging.

The department said the new facility will enable quicker, safer and less stressful medical diagnosis while reducing risks associated with moving wild animals.

Officials added that the initiative is expected to significantly improve the quality of veterinary care and treatment available for wildlife across Punjab's zoological facilities.
