MIRPUR (Dunya News) - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has pledged constitutional reforms for Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) if his party secures a two-thirds majority in the upcoming elections, describing the polls as a defining moment for the region's future.
Addressing an election rally in Mirpur, Bilawal said the upcoming vote was not an ordinary election but one that would shape the future of AJK.
He urged voters to make a decision that would guarantee a brighter future for the region.
The PPP chairman said his party shared a decades-long relationship with the people of Mirpur and expressed confidence that PPP candidates would be elected to serve the public.
Bilawal said the PPP remained committed to securing greater constitutional and political rights for the people of both Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

He stressed that the future of Kashmir should be determined by the Kashmiri people themselves rather than by provinces such as Punjab or Sindh.
Calling for the establishment of a commission to investigate the current political unrest in AJK, Bilawal said the proposed body should examine the facts, determine responsibility, and help resolve the ongoing crisis through dialogue between the federal government and protesters.
He criticized the suspension of internet services in AJK, calling it "an injustice" against the people of the region.
Bilawal urged protesters to remain peaceful and said ordinary citizens should not suffer because of political disagreements.
He also called on the AJK president to ask the Election Commission how free and fair elections could be conducted while internet services remained suspended.
