MUZAFFARABAD (Aslam Mir) - The central leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday held a consultative meeting in Muzaffarabad regarding the 2026 General Elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The meeting reviewed the party's election strategy, preparation for PML-N president Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's AJK election compaign, and arrangements for upcoming election rallies.
The meeting was attended by the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam, PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Barrister Iftikhar Gilani, along with other party leaders, candidates, and workers.
It was decided that during his visit to Azad Kashmir, Nawaz Sharif would address two major election rallies -- one in Muzaffarabad and another in Mirpur. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will also accompany him and participate in both rallies.
The participants agreed to further intensify the election campaign, launch a door-to-door campaign, mobilize party workers, and finalize arrangements for the public gatherings.
Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam said that PML-N would run a vigorous election campaign in Azad Kashmir, adding that resolving public issues and promoting the region's development and prosperity remain the party's top priorities.
He stated that the PML-N government has completed numerous development projects in Azad Kashmir, saying that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has also announced the establishment of Daanish Schools in the region.
Emphasizing the need for timely, free, and transparent elections, Amir Muqam said that PML-N is confident of winning the July 27 elections on the basis of its public service and performance.
