NEW YORK (Web Desk) – New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has commented on the controversial refereeing decisions in the Argentina-Egypt match.
Speaking to the media about his new "Next Stop: Better Buses, Faster Service" initiative, Mamdani said improved public transport helps save commuters valuable time and that the project is intended to reduce travel times.
He said shorter journeys would allow people to spend more time with their families, including having breakfast together before work and returning home earlier in the evening to be with their children.
During the media interaction, Mamdani also addressed the controversial decisions in the Argentina-Egypt match.
Concluding his remarks, he said, "It means agreeing with your friends that Egypt were robbed yesterday."
His comments have added to the ongoing debate on social media over the refereeing decisions during the match.
Following Argentina's dramatic victory over Egypt, Egypt's head coach, players and many social media users have criticised the match referees over a series of controversial decisions.
