KP CM Sohail Afridi set a three-month deadline to improve services in merged districts, ordering faster development, better education, enhanced healthcare and stronger governance.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has given the relevant administration a three-month deadline to improve service delivery in the merged districts, directing officials to ensure that residents witness clear and practical improvements in public services within the stipulated period.

The directive came during a review meeting chaired by the chief minister to assess law and order, governance and development programmes in the merged districts. The meeting also reviewed progress on public service delivery, education, healthcare and ongoing development projects.

During the meeting, Sohail Afridi instructed authorities to resume development activities in North Waziristan within one week. He directed officials to immediately deploy the required officers and staff to ensure work on development projects resumes without delay.

The chief minister also ordered special measures to bring out-of-school children in the merged districts back into the education system. He said dedicated funds have been allocated for the initiative in the current fiscal year's budget, while the shortage of teachers in schools should be addressed on an emergency basis.

Sohail Afridi said the merged districts continue to serve as the frontline in the fight against terrorism, adding that these areas are being given top priority in the provision of modern weapons and advanced equipment.

Reviewing the health sector, the chief minister directed authorities to reassess the shortage of doctors in hospitals across the merged districts and recruit additional medical staff according to need to improve healthcare services for local residents.
