The prime minister said the nation would always remember and honour the sacrifices of such brave sons of Pakistan. He also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, saying the entire nation stood with them in their grief.

Praying for the departed soul, Shehbaz Sharif asked Allah Almighty to elevate the martyr’s ranks, grant him the highest place in His mercy and bless the family with patience and strength to bear the loss.

The prime minister also directed the relevant authorities to conduct a complete and transparent investigation into the incident and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice in accordance with the law.

Separately, President Asif Ali Zardari also expressed profound grief over the martyrdom of Group Captain Asim Tariq, who was martyred while attempting to protect an innocent woman.

The president described the officer’s sacrifice as a shining example of courage, national service and high human values. He extended condolences to the martyr’s family and prayed for strength and patience for them.

President Zardari said the incident, which occurred on a major avenue in Islamabad, was a matter of serious concern and stressed the need to eliminate such crimes through effective enforcement of the law.
