ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam on Sunday expressed profound gratitude to the people and government of Pakistan for attending the funeral ceremonies of the martyred Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a statement posted on X, the Iranian ambassador said, "On behalf of the Iranian government and people, I thank Pakistan for participating in the funeral of our martyred leader. I also extend my gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Field Marshal, and the Deputy Prime Minister."
He also thanked Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, as well as other senior officials, religious figures, political leaders, and cultural personalities for attending the funeral ceremony.
The ambassador said that Pakistan participated in the historic ceremony at the highest level, describing its presence as a reflection of the longstanding friendship and mutual respect between the two brotherly countries. He added that the gesture demonstrated the historic ties and shared values between Iran and Pakistan, noting that the two nations have stood by each other through both difficult times and moments of celebration.
