ARIFWALA (Dunya News) - The body of a divorced woman who was allegedly abducted around two and a half months ago has been recovered from fields in the outskirts of Arifwala, police said.
According to police officials, the victim, identified as Alishba, was allegedly murdered by her former husband, who later buried her body in agricultural fields to conceal the crime.
Police said the suspect, who has been arrested, confessed to killing his former wife during interrogation. Acting on his disclosure, officers from Saddar Police Station conducted a search operation and recovered the victim's body from the identified location.
The body has been shifted to a hospital for legal formalities and a post-mortem examination.
Police said further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and complete the legal proceedings.
