Summary Police register case against Lahore SHO and two officers over alleged unlawful entry, intimidation and misconduct at judicial magistrate’s residence.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Police have registered a case against a station house officer (SHO) and two police personnel over the alleged illegal entry into the official residence of a judicial magistrate.
According to police, the case was registered on the complaint of the caretaker of the Judicial Rest House in Dharampura under charges related to unlawful entry into a government residence, criminal intimidation and other relevant legal provisions.
The complainant alleged that SHO Faryad Ashraf, accompanied by two armed police officers, forcibly entered the official residence of Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood, threatened those present and unlawfully entered the premises.
The FIR further alleged that the SHO attempted to pressure Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood to contact senior police officials by telephone.
Following the incident, a request was submitted to the Inspector General of Punjab Police seeking disciplinary action against the SHO of Defence-C Police Station.
Police authorities have since removed SHO Faryad Ashraf from his post and placed him on the close line pending further departmental proceedings.
