PTA warns mobile users that SIMs linked with expired or inactive CNICs may be suspended unless identity records are updated.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) — The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has warned mobile phone users that SIM cards registered against inactive or expired national identity cards may be suspended at any time.

According to the PTA, users must ensure timely renewal of their identity cards and keep their registration details updated to avoid disruption in mobile services.

The authority further clarified that if a national identity card has become inactive, users must first get it reactivated through the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), after which mobile services can continue without interruption.

PTA urged citizens to complete the required verification and documentation process to ensure uninterrupted access to mobile connectivity.
