ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has approached the Islamabad High Court against his alleged solitary confinement in prison.
In the petition filed before the Islamabad High Court, Aleema Khan named the jail superintendent, Inspector General of Prisons, NAB chairman, DG FIA and the medical superintendent of PIMS as respondents.
The petition stated that during a lawyer’s meeting held on April 8, it emerged that the PTI founder is being kept in solitary confinement for 22 hours a day, while Bushra Bibi is allegedly being kept in confinement for 24 hours. It further claimed that no family member or party representative has been allowed to meet the PTI founder during the past six months.

According to the petition, no court verdict mentions solitary confinement as part of the PTI founder’s sentence, arguing that keeping him in isolation amounts to inhumane treatment.
The petition further stated that Imran Khan informed his lawyer during a meeting that his eyesight has been affected by 85 percent. It argued that solitary confinement is among the harshest forms of punishment, whereas such punishment was never included in his sentence.
Aleema Khan requested the court to declare the PTI founder’s solitary confinement illegal.
The petition was filed through Barrister Salman Safdar. Earlier, a separate petition had also been filed by Bushra Bibi’s daughter against her alleged solitary confinement.
