GILGIT (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to nominate Advocate Amjad Hussain as the chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), sources revealed to Dunya News here on Saturday.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has decided to field the party’s provincial president Amjad Hussain for the slot of Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to sources, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari telephoned Amjad Advocate and gave him instructions for ensuring the constitutional and economic rights of the people.
Amjad Hussain has won from GBA 1 Gilgit in the recent elections. The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan has announced the official results of 21 out of 24 constituencies, according to which the PPP has won 9 seats, PML-N 6, IPP 4, MWM 1 and an independent candidate has also won 1 seat.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) have agreed to form a government in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
The sources said the parties’ leaders held a detailed consultations with the local leadership and organisations of PPP and PML-N in the region before the agreement.
According to PPP sources, both parties have expressed their determination to move forward together with mutual trust and consensus and have also agreed on a common formula for government formation.
