Sources within the provincial government said the increase will follow the pattern set by the federal government and will be formally announced during the presentation of the Punjab Budget 2026–27.
The proposed adjustment will take effect from the beginning of the new financial year and is expected to benefit millions of government employees and pensioners across the province.
Officials added that the annual budget, to be presented tomorrow, will include detailed allocations for development and non-development expenditures, welfare schemes, and financial incentives for public sector workers.
The budget is also expected to outline broader fiscal priorities for the province, including spending on infrastructure, social services, and governance reforms.
