LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab Assembly has issued the official agenda for its upcoming budget session, setting out a packed legislative schedule that includes the presentation of the new provincial budget, key financial approvals, and amendments to existing taxation laws.

According to the agenda, the budget session will commence on Tuesday, 16 June at 2:00pm. The proceedings will begin with the presentation of the budget for the upcoming financial year, which will be delivered in the House by the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs on behalf of the provincial government.

Alongside the budget presentation, the Assembly is also expected to consider and approve the supplementary budget for the financial year 2025–26. This supplementary allocation is likely to cover additional expenditures incurred during the outgoing fiscal period.

In a significant legislative development, the Punjab Finance Bill 2026 will also be tabled in the House. The bill is expected to outline new fiscal measures, revenue proposals, and adjustments in taxation policies for the coming year.

The agenda further includes the presentation of a notification related to amendments in the Punjab Sales Tax on Services Act 2012. These amendments are anticipated to revise certain tax structures governing services across the province.

In addition, the Fiscal Risk Statement 2026–27 will be presented before the Assembly. This document is expected to provide a detailed assessment of potential financial risks facing the provincial economy, along with the government’s broader fiscal strategy and mitigation plans.

The upcoming session is likely to be closely watched by political observers, economists, and stakeholders, as it will set the tone for Punjab’s economic direction in the new fiscal year, particularly in the areas of taxation, spending priorities, and revenue generation.
