Namra Shahid sees less opportunities for female actors in drama industry

Says talent alone does not always determine success in television (

Web Desk) - Actor Namra Shahid has openly discussed what she describes as the television industry's narrow window for female performers, saying that many women encounter a significant career turning point by their mid-to-late thirties.

“Once you reach your mid-30s or late 30s, you are either a recognised lead actor or you end up being cast in supporting roles,” she said during a recent interview, pointing to what she views as the scarcity of meaningful leading opportunities for women as they advance in their careers.

Looking back on her ten years in the industry, Namra remarked that talent alone does not always determine success in television.

According to her, some actors work tirelessly for years to reach the top, while others secure prominent leading roles almost instantly.

"I've been working for ten years, so for me, it has been a very long journey."

According to Namra, building a sustainable career requires more than strong performances.

She stressed the importance of professional management, strategic planning and a reliable support system behind the scenes.
