LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab government has approved the establishment of a modern Film and Music School in Lahore, with an estimated cost of Rs9.38 billion.
According to details, the project has been designed to provide formal education in film, music, theatre and performing arts. Construction is planned from July 2026 to June 2029.
The proposed facility will span 144,875 square feet and will include classrooms, studios, theatres and other academic spaces.
Officials said the institution will feature soundproof classrooms, rehearsal halls, recording studios and advanced digital audio-visual laboratories to support practical training for students. The campus will also include a library, research centre, cafeteria and other support facilities.
The government said the initiative aims to position Lahore as a major cultural hub in the region and promote cultural tourism. The project is also expected to create new professional opportunities for artists, instructors, technicians and production staff.
