ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – At least 10 tourists were killed and 13 others injured after a passenger van caught fire near Khajot on the Murree Expressway on Wednesday.
According to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police, a large contingent of police personnel and officials from the Murree administration reached the scene immediately after receiving reports of the incident. Rescue 1122 teams were also dispatched and are continuing relief operations.
Rescue officials said efforts are underway to gather details of the deceased and injured passengers.
Those injured are being provided initial medical treatment before being shifted to PIMS Hospital for further care.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, while rescue operations remain ongoing.
