Updated on:

Fourteen terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Basima district after security forces foiled planned attacks on a police station and banks.

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in the Naal area of District Basima, Balochistan, yesterday after credible intelligence indicated the presence of militants belonging to an Indian proxy group, Fitna al Hindustan.

According to security sources, the group was planning coordinated attacks targeting a nearby police station and financial institutions in the area.

Acting swiftly on the information, security forces launched a targeted operation to pre-empt the planned attacks and neutralise the threat. Movement of the militants was effectively tracked and engaged, resulting in a sustained exchange of fire between the two sides.

During the intense confrontation, fourteen terrorists were neutralised, while several others sustained injuries. Security forces also destroyed four vehicles being used by the militants, along with improvised explosive devices recovered at the scene, preventing their potential use in further attacks.

The operation involved close coordination by security personnel on the ground, who effectively contained and engaged the militants’ positions. The encounter remained intense as forces moved to dismantle the group’s operational capability in the area.

During the exchange of fire, Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbass of the Pakistan Army fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom, paying the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Following the clearance operation, sanitisation efforts are underway in the surrounding region to ensure no remaining militant presence. Security officials stated that the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm e Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eliminate the threat of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism across the country.
