ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to establish Financial Action Task Force (FATF) desks across the country to strengthen monitoring and implementation FATF related directives.
According to FIA officials, Director General FIA has issued directives to all additional directors general and zonal directors for the establishment of these desks.
The purpose of the FATF desks is to collect detailed data on six key objectives. This information is expected to be presented during Pakistan’s mutual evaluation review in the final quarter of the current year.
Officials stated that all wings and zones have been instructed to ensure full implementation of FATF-related tasks. A designated focal person has been directed to ensure compliance with the orders within seven days and submit a report to the DG FIA.
Authorities further said that a proforma based on seven terms of reference has also been attached with the instructions. The FIA emphasized that all law enforcement agencies, including itself, are required to strictly implement the FATF-related directives.
