LAHORE (Dunya News) - A spell of dry and intense heat has gripped Lahore and other parts of Punjab, with soaring temperatures marking the beginning of another hot weather phase across the province.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the temperature in Lahore is currently hovering around 32 degrees Celsius. After a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, the mercury is expected to rise to a maximum of 41 degrees Celsius during the day.
Weather experts say the intensity of the heat is likely to increase during the coming days, with warmer nights also expected to add to the discomfort. Minimum temperatures may rise from 26 degrees Celsius to around 28 degrees Celsius, increasing humidity and making the weather feel even hotter.
The Met Office has warned that heat levels are expected to rise gradually over the next one to two days, with temperatures likely to touch 42 degrees Celsius by tomorrow.
Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, increase water intake and take precautionary measures to protect themselves from heatwave conditions.
