LAHORE (Dunya News) - The process of repatriating illegally residing foreign nationals from across Punjab is continuing under the government's ongoing policy.
According to a spokesperson for Punjab Police, a total of 35,216 foreign nationals, including Afghan citizens, have been deported from Lahore and other parts of the province so far. Currently, 208 individuals are being housed at various holding points awaiting repatriation.
The spokesperson said those deported include 13,766 men, 7,061 women and 14,389 children.
Official figures showed that among the repatriated individuals, 10,954 possessed proof of residence, while 11,131 were holders of Afghan Citizen Cards (ACC). In addition, 13,131 illegally residing foreign nationals were also deported.
Punjab Police said operations against illegal foreign residents are being carried out in accordance with government policy and relevant laws. Security agencies and district administrations across the province are jointly overseeing the processes of registration, verification and repatriation.
The spokesperson added that all necessary facilities are being provided at holding centres established for the identification and processing of illegal foreign nationals, while relevant authorities remain active to ensure the repatriation process is conducted in an organized and secure manner.
