MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - An All parties Conference (APC) held in Muzaffarabad on Wednesday to formulate a joint strategy and opinion regarding demands of Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), including abolishing the refugee seats in the AJK legislative Assembly, has unanimously rejected the top-most demand saying the decision in this regard can only be taken through legislative representatives in the Assembly.
The conference attended by almost all political and religious parties of the region except Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and JAAC leadership who boycotted despite being invited to attend. The APC lasted for more than six hours and a joint statement was red out by Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore before the media persons.
Faisal said the moot deliberated the issue in detail and decided in the larger interest of public and Kashmir liberation movement to not support such an action without due legislative process through chosen representatives of the people.
He said JAAC leadership was invited in the conference to convince on a framework regarding fulfillment of their demand but they stayed away. He said that they had decided to go for agitation even their all demands were met. However, he said that the AJK government not use force against the peaceful protesters and will offer them cold water and other facilities during hot weather conditions.
He said most of JAAC demands had already been met and they were requested to postpone their protest of June 9 for meaningful deliberations in the legal committees on sensitive issue like the refugee seats but they turned down the request.
