KARACHI (Dunya News) - Somali pirates have released a video showing a Pakistani crew member who was abducted along with others aboard the vessel Owner 25, renewing concerns over the fate of the hostages.
In the video, crew member Yasar Khan appeals for urgent assistance, saying he and his colleagues have been held captive by kidnappers for the past 42 days.
According to Yasar Khan, food and drinking water supplies on the vessel have been exhausted, forcing the hostages to consume dirty water from the ship's tank.
He said the crew is surviving on a single meal of boiled rice every 24 hours and appealed to Pakistan’s prime minister and chief of army staff to take steps for their release.
Yasar Khan also alleged that the shipping company had failed to provide meaningful assistance, claiming that the company's owners and management were delaying efforts to secure the crew's freedom.
The condition and exact location of the remaining hostages could not be independently verified, while no immediate response was reported from the shipping company regarding the allegations.
