ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the appointment of Justice Dr Syed Muhammad Anwar as the acting chief justice of the Federal Shariat Court.
According to official details, Justice Dr Syed Muhammad Anwar, the senior-most judge of the Federal Shariat Court, has been designated to serve as acting chief justice.
The appointment was approved by the president on the advice of the prime minister in accordance with the relevant legal and constitutional procedures.
Justice Dr Syed Muhammad Anwar will assume the responsibilities of acting chief justice until further orders.
