Dar arrives in New York for UNSC event, bilateral meetings

Deputy PM Ishaq Dar arrived in New York for a 26–28 May visit, to attend a UN Security Council debate under China’s presidency and hold bilateral meetings with officials.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in New York for an official visit from 26-28 May, said foreign office on Tuesday.

During the visit, he will attend high-level UNSC Open Debate on “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-centered International System”, being convened under China’s Presidency of the UN Security Council.

He will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts, as well as senior UN officials.

On arrival, the DPM/FM was received by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, and Consul General of Pakistan in New York Aamer Ahmad Atozai.
