PM Shehbaz hails China as global economic model amid unmatched growth

PM Shehbaz praised China as a global economic model, highlighting its growth, poverty reduction, and strong Pakistan-China ties during 75 years of diplomatic relations in Beijing.

BEIJING (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday said China stands as a model for the world and holds no equal in terms of economic strength.

He made the remarks during a special ceremony in Beijing marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The event was attended by the prime minister and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, where a commemorative cake was also cut to celebrate the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, the prime minister praised China’s remarkable development over the past 75 years, saying it has become a global example of progress and economic success. He highlighted that China’s achievements in lifting millions out of poverty under the leadership of President Xi Jinping are highly commendable.

Shehbaz Sharif also recalled China’s support to Pakistan during the devastating floods of 2010 and appreciated Beijing’s continued cooperation in promoting regional peace, development, and stability. He noted that President Xi believes in dialogue for resolving conflicts, which reflects a strong commitment to peace.

The prime minister lauded the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China, saying the relationship has been built on trust, sincerity, and dedication by the leadership of both countries over the past seven decades. He added that it is difficult to find a similar example of such strong bilateral ties in the world.

He further stated that China’s journey of sustained economic progress offers valuable lessons for other developing nations, particularly in overcoming poverty and unemployment through perseverance and consistent effort.

Shehbaz Sharif described Pakistan and China as “one soul in two bodies,” emphasizing the depth of their friendship and shared aspirations. He said that despite China’s strong military and economic position, its leadership continues to promote peace, which makes President Xi one of the most respected global figures.

The prime minister also expressed hope for further strengthening of bilateral relations, saying that both countries should continue to build on their historic partnership and create new opportunities for future generations.
