ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Karachi Police has sought assistance from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in the ongoing investigation of alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky.
According to police sources, DIG South Asad Raza has written an official letter to FIA authorities requesting support in probing the case from money laundering and cybercrime angles.
The letter stated that during the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect’s associates were receiving and transferring large sums of money through multiple bank accounts.
Investigators suspect that the accused individuals may be involved in large-scale narcotics trafficking and related illegal financial transactions.
The correspondence further requested FIA technical assistance, stating that the case involves cyber and digital banking transactions and requires specialised expertise to trace the network.
Police also requested FIA to launch a formal inquiry and deploy expert officers to assist in the investigation.
According to the letter, multiple cases have already been registered against Anmol alias Pinky at Garden and Baghdadi police stations in Karachi, including charges under narcotics, illegal arms possession and attempted murder, with investigations continuing.
