ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistani mountaineer Salman Atiq has successfully scaled Mount Everest, the world’s tallest mountain, marking another milestone for Pakistan in international mountaineering.

According to reports, Salman Atiq reached the summit of Mount Everest at 11:49am local time on Thursday. With this achievement, he has become the 14th Pakistani climber to successfully conquer the iconic peak.

Salman Atiq belongs to Islamabad and has previously participated in several high-altitude climbing expeditions. His latest accomplishment has been praised by mountaineering enthusiasts and sports circles across the country.

Standing at a height of 8,848 metres above sea level, Mount Everest is located in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and China. It is considered one of the most dangerous and challenging mountains in the world due to extreme weather conditions, low oxygen levels, and difficult climbing routes.

The successful ascent adds Salman Atiq’s name to the list of Pakistani climbers who have represented the country in international mountaineering achievements. Pakistan has increasingly gained recognition in recent years for producing talented climbers capable of scaling some of the world’s highest peaks.

Last year, Salman Atiq also successfully climbed the Maslu peak in Nepal, further establishing his reputation in the mountaineering community. His continued success reflects the growing interest of Pakistani youth in adventure sports and high-altitude climbing.

Mountaineering experts say summiting Everest requires months of preparation, physical endurance, technical expertise, and mental resilience. Climbers often face severe weather conditions, freezing temperatures, and avalanche risks during the expedition.

Salman Atiq’s achievement is being viewed as an inspiration for aspiring climbers in Pakistan and a positive development for the country’s adventure tourism and sports sector.
