ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday paid tribute to Pakistan’s security forces for eliminating 22 militants linked to Fitna al-Khawarij during an operation in North Waziristan.
The president commended the professionalism and effective action of the security forces against the militants, whom, he said, were operating with Indian backing, a Presidency’s news release said.
President Zardari said the use of local civilians as human shields by Fitna al-Khawarij militants was clear evidence of their brutality and anti-human conduct.
He also praised the courage, morale and sacrifices of the troops participating in ongoing counter-terrorism operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign, reaffirming the nation’s resolve to eradicate terrorism from the country.
The president reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing decisive actions against militant elements threatening peace and stability.

In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz paid tribute to security forces for conducting a successful operation against terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij in the Shewa area of North Waziristan district, where 22 militants were killed.
The prime minister praised the professionalism and bravery of the security forces for eliminating the terrorists during the operation, a Prime Minister’s Office news release said.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said that under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, Pakistan’s security forces were achieving significant successes in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
“Our security forces are standing like a wall of steel against terrorism,” the prime minister stated, reaffirming the government’s commitment to eradicating all forms of terrorism from the country.
He further emphasized that the nation remained determined to ensure lasting peace and stability through continued counter-terrorism efforts and unwavering support for the armed forces.
