KARACHI (Web Desk) — The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has extended the ban restricting Indian aircraft from utilising Pakistani airspace until June 23, 2026.
The authority issued a fresh Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) on Tuesday, formalizing the extension and reinforcing strict restrictions on all categories of Indian aviation.
According to the newly issued NOTAM, the prohibition applies strictly to all commercial airlines registered in India, as well as Indian military aircraft.
The mandate specifically highlights that the restriction extends beyond state-owned vessels to include:
Any aircraft leased by Indian airlines.
Privately-owned aircraft belonging to Indian citizens.
Any flights operated or managed by Indian entities.
Pakistan initially imposed the comprehensive airspace closure on Indian flights on April 23 of last year.
With the issuance of this latest NOTAM, the closure will continue seamlessly into the upcoming month, forcing Indian commercial operators to rely on longer, alternative flight paths for international routes heading west.
