Balochistan government imposes Section 144 for one month, banning gatherings, weapons display, double riding, and face covering in public places amid security concerns.

QUETTA (Dunya News) - The government of Balochistan has imposed Section 144 across the province for a period of one month, introducing a series of restrictions aimed at maintaining law and order.

According to an official notification, the restrictions include a ban on the display and use of weapons, double riding on motorcycles, tinted windows, and unregistered vehicles.

Authorities have also prohibited all forms of public gatherings, including rallies and processions involving five or more people, under the enforcement of Section 144.

In a notable measure, the government has additionally imposed a ban on covering faces in public places during this period.

The notification states that the restrictions will take immediate effect, and strict legal action will be taken against those found violating the orders.

Officials said the decision follows recent security incidents, including attacks on police vehicles, prompting authorities to take precautionary steps to ensure public safety.

Section 144 is often enforced to prevent potential unrest by restricting movement and gatherings in sensitive situations.
