Police links emerge in Pinky investigation

Investigators probing Anmol alias Pinky uncovered alleged police contacts, suspicious bank transactions and hundreds of suspected drug customers.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Fresh developments have emerged in the investigation into alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky, with authorities discovering alleged links between the suspect and five police officials and officers.

According to investigative officials, the police personnel linked to the case are posted at different locations across Karachi.

Authorities said Anmol alias Pinky’s mobile phone had been sent for forensic analysis, while her audio voice notes were also being examined.

Investigators revealed that the number of cases linked to Anmol had now risen to 21.

Officials further stated that scrutiny of six bank accounts was underway after transactions exceeding Rs30 million were detected.

The investigation is also focusing on payments allegedly received through online mobile applications, although authorities said the total amount involved had not yet been determined.

Additional IG Karachi said seven individuals had been taken into custody from areas outside Karachi as part of the ongoing crackdown.

He added that investigators were reviewing around 800 phone numbers and had so far identified more than 300 suspected customers linked to the network.
