Summary Azad Kashmir Election Commission rejected PTI’s registration over financial irregularities and non-compliance with electoral rules after audit objections.
MUZAFFARABAD (Web Desk) - The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has rejected the registration application of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azad Kashmir, citing violations of financial rules and failure to comply with electoral regulations.
According to details, the decision was taken over non-implementation of Rule 121 of the election regulations, which led to the rejection of the application.
Sources said audit reports had identified financial irregularities in the party’s accounts, and even after a re-audit, the objections remained unresolved.
Officials added that PTI Azad Kashmir representatives were given a personal hearing during the process.
The Election Commission stated that the registration could not be approved as legal requirements were not fulfilled, emphasizing that the same law applies equally to all political parties.
