Four miners killed in coal mine collapse in Thatta

Four mine workers lost their lives and 5 were injured on Thursday as a portion of a coal mine collapsed in Jhirk area of Thatta district

THATTA (Dunya News) - Four mine workers lost their lives and 5 were injured on Thursday as a portion of a coal mine collapsed in Jhirk area of Thatta district, which is located near Jamshoro.

According to details, miners were working deep inside the coal mine, when a portion of it suddenly collapsed, trapping several miners under the debris.

A rescue operation was launched soon after and five miner was pulled out of the rubble in injured condition while four dead bodies were recovered.

The police informed that the deceased were identified as Ziaullah Khan, Noor Muhammad Khan, Irfanullah Khan, residents of Swat and Saindad Bhatti, resident of Sanghar district.

According to the police and an official of Rescue 1122, the injured Muhammad Hussain Khan, Naseebullah Khan, Malik Zada, Naimatullah Khan and Gul Hassan Khan were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital in Hyderabad.
