RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - The authorities in Rawalpindi have imposed Section 144, banning all kinds of public gatherings around Adiala Jail and other sensitive installations.
According to an official notification, the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi imposed Section 144 in view of the law and order situation, prohibiting public meetings, rallies, sit-ins, protests, and processions near Adiala Jail, the Red Zone, and other sensitive locations.
The order also bans carrying weapons, batons, stones, petrol bombs, and explosive materials.

Removing police barricades or disrupting traffic has also been prohibited.
According to the notification, Section 144 will remain in force till May 19, 2026.
The administration stated that immediate measures were necessary to maintain peace and public order.
