(Web Desk) - Pakistan cricket legend Wasim Akram has shared his verdict on the long-running debate over whether the food in Karachi or Lahore is better.

Akram, in a video statement posted on his official handles across social media platforms, put forward himself as the right person to settle the debate, citing the extensive time he has spent in both major cities.

“I have seen people arguing so intensely over Karachi and Lahore food that it feels like swords and axes are out,” he joked.

"Look, I spent 42 years in Lahore. I was born there, and I am a Lahori. But I have also been living in Karachi for the past 14 years, so I think I can settle this debate once and for all," he added.

Referring to comments made by politician Fawad Chaudhry about Karachi’s food, Akram said he wanted to settle the debate once and for all.

The former fast bowler recalled recently visiting Lahore during the Pakistan Super League final, where he revisited some of his favorite food spots for chickpeas and grilled chops.

However, he added that Karachi offers greater food diversity because people from many ethnic and cultural backgrounds live in the city.

Akram also remarked that food in Lahore has become increasingly spicy in recent years, saying traditional Lahoris do not usually eat excessively spicy meals.

Concluding the debate, he said Lahore has excellent food, but Karachi stands out for its wider variety of cuisines.
