Overloaded school roof collapse in DG Khan kills four, several injured

Four killed as school roof collapses in Dera Ghazi Khan; nine rescued alive while rescue operation continues amid fears of more people trapped under debris.

DERA GHAZI KHAN (Dunya News) - Four people were killed when the roof of a private school collapsed in the Jam Pur Road area of Dera Ghazi Khan.

According to Rescue officials, the tragic incident occurred when the roof of a private school suddenly caved in, burying several people under the debris. The bodies of four deceased persons have been recovered.

Rescue sources said that nine people have so far been pulled out alive, while rescue operations are continuing at a fast pace.

A Rescue spokesperson said the school administration fears that more children may still be trapped under the rubble.

Immediately after the incident, rescue teams, police and local residents reached the site and took part in ongoing relief efforts. The injured are being shifted to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the roof collapse.
