RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - The funeral prayer of Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain Shaheed was offered at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
He embraced martyrdom yesterday after sustaining injuries while leading his men, and fighting valiantly during an intelligence-based operation against Indian-sponsored terrorists in Balochistan.
The funeral prayer was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Ministers of Interior and Information, senior serving and retired civil and military officials, relatives, and a large number of citizens.
Paying rich tribute to the martyred officer, the prime minister lauded Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain’s exceptional bravery, dedication, and steadfast commitment to the defence of the motherland.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s Armed Forces, with the full support of the nation, remain determined in eliminating terrorism and its facilitators from the country.
The prime minister emphasized that the sacrifices of martyrs like Khalid Hussain strengthen national resolve and underscore Pakistan’s commitment to peace, stability, and sovereignty.
The Shaheed will be laid to rest in his hometown with full military honours.
Both the Pakistan’s Armed Forces and the people have paid solemn tribute to the martyr and extend heartfelt condolences to bereaved family.
