KARACHI (Web Desk) - Veteran film director and producer Syed Noor has termed casting TikToker Jannat Mirza in his film a “disaster,” saying the experiment failed to bring audiences to cinemas.
A clip from Syed Noor’s recent interview is circulating on social media, where he was asked about the trend of casting individuals who gain fame through platforms like Instagram based on their follower count.

Responding to the question, Syed Noor said that casting Jannat Mirza in his film proved to be nothing but a failure. He stated that despite the film being made with great effort, audiences did not turn up to watch it in cinemas.
The director added that people may think they can already watch such personalities on TikTok, so there is no reason to visit cinemas.
Syed Noor further said that in the past, films had their own dedicated audiences, and people used to wait eagerly for releases of their favorite actors. However, he noted that the situation has changed, and audiences no longer wait for a particular actor’s film to go and watch it.
