Govt committed to free, responsible media: Attaullah Tarar

Attaullah Tarar said the government values the efforts of journalists and media workers and remain committed to media freedom, responsibility, and a brighter future for all media in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Sunday acknowledging the media’s crucial role in shaping Pakistan’s global narrative, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a “free, responsible, and vibrant media” in the country.

The minister, in his message on the World Press Freedom Day, said, “Pakistan’s traditional media has long stood as a strong pillar of public trust and democratic values, and during Marka-e-Haq, it played a responsible and patriotic role in informing the world with balance and clarity.”

“Alongside this, our media is gradually adapting to modern tools and global connectivity, while digital platforms are helping project Pakistan’s true image and potential,” he added.

The minister said the government values the efforts of journalists and media workers and remain committed to media freedom, responsibility, and a brighter future for all media in Pakistan.
