QUETTA (Dunya News) - The Balochistan government has enforced Section 144 at Hub River, banning swimming and all recreational activities in the area. The decision follows a tragic incident on Sunday, in which three people drowned.

According to an official notification issued by the Home Department, the order prohibits bathing, swimming, and leisure activities within the river’s limits. Entry into dangerous spots along the riverbanks has also been strictly restricted.

The ban is effective immediately and will remain in force for 60 days, though authorities may extend or amend it depending on circumstances. Violators will face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code and other relevant laws.

The Home Department has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Hub, police, and law enforcement agencies to ensure strict implementation of the order. Officials emphasized that protecting human lives is the government’s top priority, and all necessary measures will be taken to safeguard the public.
