MOSCOW (Dunya News) - The second Russia–Pakistan International Conference aimed at strengthening educational ties between the two countries will be held from May 12 to 17, 2026, in the Russian city of Kazan.

Under the theme “Evolution of Russia–Pakistan Relations in a Changing Global Order,” the conference will be organized as part of the globally recognized Russia–Islamic World Kazan Forum 2026, bringing together experts, researchers, and policymakers from around the world.

The event is being jointly organized by Kazan Federal University and Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology, with support from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and the Consortium for Asia Pacific and Eurasian Studies (CAPES).

The conference is being held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Zabita Khan Shinwari, Vice Chancellor of the Federal Urdu University, and Prof. Dr. Lenar Rinatovich Safin, Rector of Kazan Federal University. It is also being supported by the ambassadors of both countries, reflecting growing bilateral relations.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia Faisal Niaz Tirmizi and Russia’s Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev are also associated with the event.

The upcoming conference follows the success of the first Pakistan-Russia conference held in Karachi in February 2025, which was considered a major milestone in academic cooperation between the two countries.

A high-level Pakistani academic delegation is expected to participate, including senior vice chancellors and scholars from various universities such as Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi (University of Karachi), Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen (Women University Swabi), and Prof. Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shehzad (Minhaj University), along with researchers and business representatives.

During the conference, key topics including geopolitics, regional connectivity, economic cooperation, security, and cultural relations will be discussed.

Experts believe the conference will play an important role in strengthening Pakistan-Russia educational diplomacy and promoting research collaboration and people-to-people contacts.
