Field Marshal Asim Munir, Iran FM Araghchi discuss regional situation

Iran FM Abbas Araghchi meets Pakistan’s defence leadership in Islamabad; both sides discuss regional security, peace efforts, and expanding bilateral cooperation.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir in Islamabad, where regional situation and bilateral cooperation were discussed.

According to diplomatic sources, during the first formal meeting of the Iranian foreign minister in Islamabad, both sides held detailed discussions on regional security and strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.

Sources further confirmed that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and National Security Adviser Lt Gen Asim Malik also attended the meeting, while the Iranian delegation included Deputy Foreign Minister Garibabadi, Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam, and Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of peace and stability in the region and agreed to further strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations and security cooperation.
