HYDERABAD (Dunya News) - Three children electrocuted during a wedding event in the Phuleli area of Hyderabad on Thursday.

Police officials said the children had come to attend a relative’s wedding and were sleeping on the rooftop of a house when they came into contact with high-voltage power lines passing overhead.

Police confirmed that the victims were aged 10, 12, and 14, and two of them were real brothers.

A spokesperson for the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) stated that the incident occurred due to electric current, adding that the wires at the location were not broken. It is believed the children either came too close to the lines or accidentally touched them.

The spokesperson further noted that illegal constructions have brought electricity wires dangerously close to rooftops and walls. Residents in nearby areas, including Tando Tayyab, had previously been issued notices regarding such safety concerns.

Authorities are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
