LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab has prepared a plan to reduce fines for violations of traffic laws across the province.
Chief Minister Punjab has approved a summary sent by the DIG Traffic Punjab, while the proposal will be presented in the Punjab Assembly for final approval.
According to the summary, the fine for motorcycles has been reduced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,000.
The fine for rickshaws has been reduced from Rs 3,000 to Rs 1,000, while serious violations will carry a Rs 2,000 penalty.
For cars and jeeps, the fine has been reduced from Rs 5,000 to Rs 3,000, while penalties for overspeeding for motorcycles, rickshaws, and cars remain unchanged.
For 2,000cc and other luxury vehicles, fines have been reduced from Rs 20,000 to Rs 10,000.
According to the summary, penalties for 2,000cc vehicles will now range from Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000.
Fines for Mazda, coaster, and small passenger vans have been reduced from Rs 20,000 to Rs 7,000.
Similarly, fines for trucks, buses, and other heavy vehicles have been reduced from Rs 20,000 to Rs 10,000.
Other penalties for light and heavy vehicles have also been reduced by up to Rs 10,000.
