ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said Pakistan’s focus remains on achieving lasting peace in the region rather than seeking any rewards.
In an interview with a British television channel, he warned that the impact of the conflict could be severe for the entire world, adding that the international community has no alternative strategy beyond ongoing peace efforts.
He stressed that “Plan A” — diplomacy and negotiations — must succeed at all costs, as there is no viable “Plan B” available.
Bilawal Bhutto said that after a month of diplomatic efforts, a ceasefire between the United States and Iran has been agreed upon, with US President Donald Trump approving the arrangement, while a 10-point framework proposed by Iran has been used as the basis for talks.
He noted that although airstrikes and retaliatory actions have temporarily halted, some differences between the parties still remain.
He expressed hope that trust between the sides could be restored, emphasizing that the recent tensions resulted in loss of lives and negatively impacted the global economy.
Responding to a question about the Nobel Peace Prize, Bilawal Bhutto reiterated that Pakistan is not seeking any award but is committed to ensuring sustainable peace in the region.
He concluded by urging the global community to stay committed to peaceful solutions, as there is no room for an alternative approach.
